When Cool Hand Luke spoke to God...

Oh come on!
Stop beating it!
We ain't got nothin' to do with that.
Would probably have happened to him sooner or later anyway.
He gotta learn the rules the same as anybody else.

Knock it off!
You can't talk to him like that!
Are you still believin' in that big bearded Boss up there?
Ain't ya scared? Ain't ya scared of dyin'?

You're welcome to it, ol' timer.
Let me know you're up there. Come on.
Love me, hate me, kill me, anything.
Just let me know it.

I'm just standin' in the rain talkin' to myself.

You gonna get used to wearin' them chains afer a while.
Don't you never stop listenin' to them clinking.
'Cause they gonna remind you of what I been saying.
For your own good.

Wish you'd stop bein' so good to me...

Anybody here?
Hey, Old Man. You home tonight?
Can You spare a minute. It's about time we had a little talk.
I know I got no call to ask for much...

But even so, You've got to admit You ain't dealt me no cards in a long time.
It's beginning to look like You got things fixed so I can't never win out.
Inside, outside, all of them... rules and regulations and bosses.
You made me like I am.
Now just where am I supposed to fit in?

Old Man, I gotta tell You.
I started out pretty strong and fast.
But it's beginning to get to me.
When does it end?
What do You got in mind for me?
What do I do now?

Right. All right.
On my knees, asking.
Yeah, that's what I thought.
I guess I'm pretty tough to deal with, huh?
A hard case. Yeah.
I guess I gotta find my own way.

Is that Your answer, Old Man?

I guess You're a hard case, too.

Somewhere between Broke and Even...

I love Nick Cave because his songs remind me to not take anything for granted. Sundays, Love and God are included in that view. And while I wrote that last line with bravado, as if I am a man with a Life-time-membership to righteousness, I am far-flung from that club. I'm caught tonight somewhere between a feeling that has chased me my whole life and a feeling that I chased after my whole life. And these two feelings -- for the moment, at least-- are the two poles I often find myself torn between.

The power of conviction is difficult to maintain and it is where I often find myself standing... With the stresses and strains of living 100 mph instinctively and with little thought. Especially tonight when I realize I'm still in love with her and more than a year on I find myself standing between broke and even...

When You get a dose of the Super Hero Blues...

The Laughing Heart...

Your life is your life

don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.

There are ways out.
There is a light somewhere.

It may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
Be on the watch.

The gods will offer you chances.
Know them.
Take them.

You can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.

And the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.

Your life is your life
Know it while you have it.
You are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

Gibberish got nothin' on the Awesomest Blog Ever...

There is a lot of useless gibberish on the internet these days, my own included. Even respected Journalists, Pulitzer Prize winners and Porno Stars have taken-up the business of gibberish. No one feels safe from it. And who wants to be safe from it?
It is Fun. It is the new Crack.

Everyone on the Net these days talks gibberish. Media Messiahs – mostly perverts disguised as PR professionals — stock brokers and charity organizations have taken-out lifetime subscriptions to the Gibberish Brotherhood. Anyone can join.

Like America of old, the Net has become a land where dreams can come true…Or at the very least it is a place you can pretend they came true…

Ahh… its fucked-up I tell ya! It’s low-rent to some and five-star to others and as odd as the backroom of a $500 PR event I attended last month where I was offered Cocaine and a Blow-Job by a fresh-faced PR intern that the host won in a poker game.

Gibberish is hard work, as you can tell from the last paragraph. It takes years and years of working harder and harder and that kind of endless routine can make a man kinky.

And speaking of Kinky… There is a reason I started all this gibberish, or at least there was … I had a moment today, a kinky one. Which is true, and it was a moment of pure joy to click on the
Awesomest Blog Ever and find a blog void of gibberish.

It was one of those moments that can change a man’s attitude about himself and his life for a while… Like the time a man first shaves his balls and realizes he just became that much closer to being just like David Lee Roth in his hey-day… Unchained!

And
unchained she is… Fun, Honest, Humble and Authentic are just a few of the words I can use to describe this modern artist, without even knowing her or her character. But I can say this… Her genuine nature comes through in her blog and coming from a professional Gibberish Rustler, take it as a lesson…

Her words have the power to shrivel nuts of the toughest Gibberish Rustler and make them fall off the body like raisins off a bush. Lucky for me I’m not that tough…

Okay that’s it for me and my gibberish. I’m off to watch Detroit hammer Chicago in game two.

You should now
click here. And if you’re lucky, you just might find what I found in this artist's blog… A person.

Murder, Madness & an old proverb.. The Battle for Humanity

There's a hard sun beating down on the grass outside my window this morning. I woke-up happy to birds chirping and the morning newspaper over a cup of black tea... What a perfect day, in my world that is...

But on the streets of Toronto last night there was turmoil as protesters from the Toronto Tamil community blocked the Gardiner Expressway to the dismay and inconvenience of both police and Toronto's drivers.

Some cursed the protesters, others vented to the media... "The Bastards! How dare they take over our streets," I heard one elderly man say. Another, a woman, I heard say, "Why don't they go back to their own country, why bring that Shit here."

Well folks, Here's why that "Shit" needs to be here in Canada...

I woke to sunny skies today but in northern Sri Lanka today hundreds-of-thousands of innocent people started their day surrounded by Murder, Madness and helplessness, an oppressive government and a United Nations that time-and-again has proven it doesn't give a damn about people of colour... Remember Rawanda?

Sorry if you were inconvenienced by a protest but there are hundreds-of-thousands of people whose right to live in peace has been inconvenienced by the ugliness of Militarism and Politics...
The Battle for Humanity is best lead and achieved by peaceful protests and democratic rights rather than by Guns and Bullets...

And Folks, if you don't think that "Shit", so-called protests, should be here in Canada well let me leave you with this poem...

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

Then they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out for me.

Buckle-up! Humanity has Cashed its Check

Buckle up. This ride isn’t going to be your typical Sunday drive in the country. This is a stolen ride. It will be full of torque, spinning tires and hair-pin turns where at times you may feel the driver –me – is totally out-of-control, on the run and perhaps loaded. And I just might be. Then again, who knows…?

Those are moments I cannot predict. I live by my heart, by the notion of possibility and find little use for my brain other than talking to zombie corporate types, drunken lawyers and crooked politicians. I have that act covered… You bet!

You can call me TheStory. My parents gave me a birth name by which I go by when I’m away from this keyboard. But here, I am TheStory… If you read my blog on a regular basis; you just might discover who I am as well as who I am not. And you may even learn something about yourself and the Human condition.

It’s a strange world. Some people drive fast, expensive cars and others ride a bicycle and get hit by a car and die. Who knows why? The Human Condition is a difficult thing to figure out. I’m not here to figure out the perverted truth of why we behave and think like we do. I’m here to rant and rave about it!

So don’t be alarmed if at times I lean heavy on the horn or break a few speed limits. This is my ride and I’ll roll down the window and curse the world or wave good morning to it when I damn well feel like it.

So let’s get this ride started and put her into first…
